 MPI Online Training and Certification
 MPI’s training and certification provides knowledge and awards recognition to individuals who have attained mastery in the field of architectural/commercial coatings. Our online training courses make it easy and cost-effective to train both new and seasoned staff.
Level 1: The Essentials
 Certification at Level 1 verifies that the individual has mastered the major principles and practices involved with architectural coatings. Individuals who complete and pass the basic course Essentials of Paint and Painting Technology will possess excellent working knowledge in each of these areas:
- Basic paint chemistry
- A review of all the types of paint
- Basics of how paint is made
- All about color
- Paint application methods and practices
- Safety: everything about how to work safely when painting
- A review of the standards commonly referenced in architectural painting work
- The components of a painting specification
- Environmental safety and regulations
How the Course Works
 Both the course and exam are completely on-line, so there’s no need for travel expenses and students can take the course at their own pace.
Students get three months to finish the course. Each section includes a review of the content followed by study questions and answers that help assure the student masters the most important material within the section. Students get up to two tries to take the Final Exam and must achieve a score of 75% or better to pass.
